Science VBS Day Camp Wrap Up

August 2, 2014

Wow! What a GREAT two days! Not only did we have a huge turnout for our Science VBS Day Camp, but the kids were so good. They interacted wonderfully, they listened well, they were very patient as they did their science "experiments," they had a ton of fun, and they enjoyed learning about Jesus.

Among the fun experiments of building rockets, catapults, bridges, and green slime, the kids learned about 5 BASIC elements of following Jesus - Believe, Ask, Serve, Impact, and Celebrate.

  • Believe was about believing that Jesus died on a cross to forgive us of our sins and rose again to life to give us spiritual life.
  • Ask was about prayer.
  • Serve was about helping others using the unique gifts God has given you.
  • Impact was about blessing the world by telling people about Jesus.
  • And Celebrate was about enjoying the eternal life you have in Jesus, both now and forever in heaven.

Each "element" was accompanied by Scripture songs, skits, lesson times, and video "science devotionals."

We are extremely grateful that the youth group from Siloam Springs Bible Church in Siloam Springs, AR came to lead the VBS. They did an amazing job, loved each of the kids who came, had incredible attitudes, and truly had fun. It was a great blessing having them! Thanks also goes to the Vineyard Church for providing space for the Siloam team to sleep and to the W for allowing them to use the showers.

We are on a mission to help people love like Jesus loved and live like Jesus lived.

It doesn't matter to us if you:

  • are a Wartburg student or a grandparent,
  • vote Democrat or Republican,
  • are married, divorced, or single,
  • have gone to church for years or haven't been to church in years,
  • make $100,000/yr. or wonder how you're going to pay rent this month,
  • or fear your past mistakes make you unlovable to God or others.

No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, we want to help you become who God has created you to be.
